Of the many integrations that Suitable can do with other systems, many of our partners choose to integrate our Guided Pathways product with Anthology’s Engage product.
This leaves the door open for schools who already use Engage to get on board with Guided Pathways, knowing that they can use the two systems hand in hand.
Here we’ll detail how one of our partners uses Guided Pathways and Engage together for a holistic co-curricular experience.
Don’t worry, we play nice with others!
When integrating Suitable’s API with Engage (or many of the other systems we are compatible with,) the process is simple.
We give you access to Suitable’s API for Guided Pathways, and your IT team is able to write directly to it. They can build out their own queries and calls - enabling you to fully customize your Guided Pathways dashboard to your specification.
One of our partners who implemented their Guided Pathways dashboard with an Engage integration with great success is Vanderbilt University.
There are a couple ways to do this:
Some schools may simply use Suitable’s “Experience Type” tags for Engage activities (as many schools also do with Handshake activities.)
Talk to your Tech team about your preference in terms of labeling and linking these activities.
In Vanderbilt’s case, they sync their event calendar with Suitable – including the event name, event description for Engage events, and a link to the Engage event page.
For another example, if you were to host a student organizations fair, you may have an event page on Engage.
With Suitable and Engage integrated, the event will automatically appear in your Guided Pathways dashboard.
Then, you may choose to have the link to your Engage page, where students can get more information on the event. As mentioned, you may additionally add a tag for this type of event (or for any/all Engage events.)
Schools may choose to use the RSVP feature in Engage or Suitable, depending on their preference and can link Suitable QR codes for a more convenient check-in process for students.
Students who attend the event or complete the activity will be credited with points in Guided Pathways (if you choose to set up your system this way.)
In Vanderbilt’s case, they built their system so that students accrue credit in Engage first, which is another option. In that case, you can set up your system so that event credit in Engage will sync over to Suitable with the applicable number of points.
At Suitable, we pride ourselves in the ability to integrate with other systems you already use, including Engage. Our goal is to fit in where needed, and then connect to the other systems that are already working.
While we of course recommend using The Hub for student organization management for the lightest lift and most unified experience for students, there are numerous possibilities for connecting Engage and Suitable.
