We invite you to please join us on March 28th at 1pm (ET) as Robbi Goninan (Director of Orientation & Events) from Central Washington University (CWU) showcases, Onward, their student engagement initiative!
Navigating the first year can be overwhelming, however, CWU has made it a lot easier with the implementation of their required first-year student engagement initiative, Onward.
The Onward platform powered by Suitable, equips incoming Wildcats with the proper tools, resources, and experiences necessary for success as they begin their undergraduate journey at CWU. All incoming first-year students are introduced to the platform during the required Week of Welcome orientation experience, and the one-credit course, University 101. With the Onward mobile app, students can track their progress through competency areas, fulfill requirements, showcase their engagement record, and explore the various opportunities available to them at CWU.
This event will provide:
- An overview of the Onward initiative, and the chosen competencies.
- A breakdown of the program structure and how students complete it.
- Best practices for leveraging technology to streamline the first-year experience and better track student involvement.
- Key strategies behind the Onward design and growing student engagement rate.
- A sneak peek of program updates planned for the fall 2024 quarter.
- "The Wheel of Fun" Prize Wheel!

The "Wheel of Fun" prize is...a Stanley Cup! The "Wheel of Fun" will be spun during the webinar, and to be entered to win, you must attend the live event.
